Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was previously the White House deputy presses secretary (2009-2011); White House deputy director of communications director(2009-2011) as well as spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013)-2015 as well as White House communications director (2015)-2017. Psaki was a contributor to CNN's political coverage of 2017 to 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as an official political contributor for CNN. She worked on the campaign for re-election of Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later named the press secretary's deputy in John Kerry's campaign for president in 2004. Between 2005 and the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director for U.S. representative Joseph Crowley as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed press secretary for President Obama's 2012 presidential election campaign. The 11th of February, 2013, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State. There was speculation that Psaki was to replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, in the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30 the 30th of May, 2014. In 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and remained until the close of the Obama administration.
