Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor, speaker, consultant writer, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. Corcoran has been a part of 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has signed 53 deals as of February 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second child in the family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence, her mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., her father, was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from the local grocer. Corcoran says that her father was a drunk who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was struggling in school, and discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran started high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite failing several courses during her freshman years.
